Welcome to the 'Today I learned' writer blog. This blog is meant as a habit building tool for me, TIL Writer¹. That means in this case quantity of posts over quality of posts, because writing regularly and often will create experience and with that experience will hopefully come quality.

The name of this blog is inspired by the subreddit Today I Learned (TIL). When thinking about how to learn to write better the idea came to write a blog post every day and use Reddit as an inspiration and a source for a great diversity of content and topics. As an avid lurker on Reddit I often find that not only the posts themselves are interesting, the comments themselves add to the context and depth of information of the original post. So my initial idea is to use this as an inspiration, not to steal these things word by word, mind, but to put it in my own words and as such find my own writers voice. And I'll make sure to give credit where credit is due.

As a side-note, the creation of this blog was a whole TIL by itself as it's build with a static site generator called Gatsby, React and continuous deployment with Netlify. All things I had next to zero previous experience with.
